In December 1999, Austin's Celis Brewery sponsored KLBJ-FM's Millennium Mission to Maui to throw one last party just in case the world ended at Y2K. Some of Austin's top bands went along to provide Austin-style entertainment for the attendees of the weeklong Millennium Mission. The musicians included Lisa Tingle, Reckless Kelly, Cadillac Voodoo Choir, Ian Moore, Valléjo, and a reunion of the Arc Angels. KLBJ-FM Morning Show producer Jeff Gish and his wife, Karen, are pictured here on their first full day on Maui, enjoying some fresh island sushi at the Westin Maui Hotel, home base for the trip.
