New York - Retired Major League Baseball Commissioner Alan "Bud" Selig admitted in a recent interview that his insistence on moving the Houston Astros from the National League to the American League was the "stupidest thing I have ever done", and he issued an apology to the Astros and their fans. "I actually lost the Astros in a poker game bet with Bud Adams." (Bud Adams is the former owner of the Houston Oilers NFL football team and possibly the most hated man in Houston.) "I thought I had a good hand but he beat me and I had no choice but to force the Astros to change leagues", Selig continued.
"This whole thing is a disaster and I wish I could go back to the way things were. It was the stupidest thing I have ever done. I am so sorry. If I only had not made that stupid bet, the Astros would still be in the National League where they belong."
