GREEZY WHEELS AND SWEET MARY RETURN TO WHERE IT ALL STARTED
Sweet Mary returns to the site of her very first Austin performance, where she sat in with the legendary Kenneth Threadgill himself, as Greezy Wheels comes to Threadgill's ("The Old No. 1") at 6416 North Lamar Blvd. on Friday, May 9th at 9:00pm. In celebration of glorious pasts, there will be no cover charge at Austin's newest and most exciting performance space north of the river. Sweet Mary later sat in regularly with Threadgill's band, and was "discovered" by the original members of Greezy Wheels while playing with them. Less than two weeks after Mary joined the band, Eddie Wilson, intrepid owner of Threadgill's then "discovered" Greezy Wheels and booked them at the Armadillo World Headquarters, which of course, Eddie also founded. The great circle route of life now takes them to the show at Eddie's joint on the original site of Threadgill's this May 9th, over thirty years later. All ages are welcome, and the food is always excellent. And once again, there is music at The Old No. 1!
